show Abstracthide AbstractCulturable microbial strain resources are the foundation and guarantee of generation of the Gnotobiotic Mouse Model (GMM). We established an open Mouse Gut Bacterial Collection (mGBC) by isolating and culturing bacteria from feces and intestinal contents of mouse from different laboratories and field environment throughout China. The mGBC includes 150 strains that are taxonomically described and publicly available, with dozens of novel taxa. Samples were sequenced as standard whole genome sequencing runs on illumina novaseq 6000 or Nanopore PromrthION48. The GMM is colonized with a defined set of microorganisms, allowing researchers to study the specific effects of microbes in a clear microbial background. It is an effective tool in the study of intestinal flora in metabolism, immunity and other fields. Using the strains in mGBC, designing synthetic community, and gavage to germ-free mice, we constructed GMM with comprehensive phenotypic data, robust recovery of physiological indexes and a well-defined microbiological background for the study of intestinal microbiota. This project contains raw data and genome assemblies for the 148 cultured isolates of the mGBC.
